Frequently Asked Questions

How do you pronounce Miel?

Mi-el (two syllables). “Mi” as in “do re mi,” “el” like Elle Magazine.

Do you do classroom visits?

I am not usually available for daytime classroom visits. However, I am available for evening and weekend conversations with classes, groups, and book clubs.

I've worked with students from middle school through college for eleven years, and I love talking about all things books and writing. I can present and lead workshops on developing ideas, creating a writing practice, revision, and the publishing journey. I'm also happy to talk to book groups and especially to LGBTQ+ teen groups about queer stories and queer joy.
